    Brent Polischuk: I’ve always believed that some of the most important work happens quietly. When things are running smoothly, it usually means someone has planned well and paid attention to details. I’m drawn to roles where the goal is to support others and reduce stress for them. That kind of work requires patience and consistency. You don’t always get recognition, but you see the impact in how confident and calm people feel. That’s rewarding to me.

    Q: You’ve worked in settings where coordination and trust are essential. What helps build trust in those environments?

    Bren Polischukt: Trust comes from reliability. People want to know that if something goes wrong, someone will step in and handle it calmly. That means showing up prepared, communicating clearly, and following through on what you say you’ll do. Even small actions matter. When people see that you are paying attention and taking responsibility, they relax. Once trust is there, teamwork becomes much easier.

    Q: How do you personally handle pressure when a lot of people are depending on you?

    Brent Polischuk: I try to focus on what I can control. Pressure often comes from uncertainty, so preparation helps reduce that. I also remind myself that staying calm helps others stay calm too. If you panic, it spreads quickly. If you stay steady, that does too. I’ve learned that taking a moment to listen and assess the situation usually leads to better decisions than reacting too fast.

    Q: What have these experiences taught you about leadership?

    Brent Polischuk: Leadership is not always about giving instructions. Often it’s about listening and noticing what others need before they ask. Sometimes the best leaders are the ones who quietly solve problems without making a big show of it. I think leadership also means respecting everyone’s role. When people feel valued, they contribute more and take pride in their work.

    Q: What advice would you give to people who want to make a positive impact in their work or community?

    Brent Polischuk: Start by being dependable. Show up on time, do what you say you’ll do, and treat people with respect. You don’t need a big title to make a difference. Small, consistent actions add up over time. If you focus on helping others succeed, you often find that you grow as well. That approach builds strong relationships and creates environments where people feel supported and motivated.
